Islamic University’s Pro-Chancellor inaugurates HEMS deployment at IIUI during CUI visit

May 28, 2016 – H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Pro-Chancellor International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), inaugurated the process to deploy the Higher Education Management Suite (HEMS) at IIU, which has been developed by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology’s software development wing (CU-Online).

Under the recently signed MoU between CUI and IIUI, CUI will automate the university processes at IIU as per their requirements. HEMS has been developed by CUI and is already successfully deployed at seven of its campuses and two other universities i.e., Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Ghulam Ishaq Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). Upon arrival, the visiting delegation was given a tour of the main CUI Library, which they found to be at par with most modern university libraries in developed countries.

During his address, Dr. Al-Khail said he was highly impressed by the pace at which COMSATS had grown in the last few years and deeply valued its cooperation for deployment of HEMS, which will help them improve their university’s effectiveness.

Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, Rector CUI, praised the management of both organizations in collaborating with each other, which would further strengthen their ties and provide mutually beneficial synergies at both institutions of higher learning. Rector CUI and Pro-Rector CUI, Dr. Haroon Rashid presented mementos to the visitors.

At the end, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, In-charge CUI Islamabad Campus, gave the vote of thanks and expressed the hope that it would turn out to be beginning of a mutually beneficial long term relationship between both organizations. Later, the delegation was taken on a tour of the Department of Architecture & Design, where the thesis of final year students was at display.
